In June, 2009, the Bowie Senior Bonsai Club went to the home of Jim Sullivan to view his Bonsai collection. Jim has been a bonsai enthusiast for over 35 years, and has more than 200 trees in his collection. He has grown many of his trees from seedlings, but others he gathered from the wild.

Jim is a former president of the Bowie Bonsai Club, which disbanded several years ago because of a lack of participation. Jim has been a valuable resource for the Bowie Senior Bonsai Club and the trip to see his collection was a valuable learning experience.
